Approach to patient care:
As a naturopathic primary care physician, Dr. Sharif provides a holistic, natural approach to the primary care medical needs of the whole family. His medical paradigm focuses on optimizing health rather than treating disease. He is particularly interested in providing care for individuals with complex conditions that have been difficult to diagnose or treat using allopathic (or Western) medicine or even conventional naturopathic medicine.
As a primary care provider, Dr. Sharif treats any and all conditions. His various specialty areas include: naturopathic psychiatry/psychology, gastroenterology (digestive disorders), dermatology (skin conditions), and rheumatology (joints, muscles, and soft tissues.) He also provides a variety of other services such as hormone testing and balancing, digestive testing and food allergy testing. Additionally, Dr. Sharif practices Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to help with psychological complaints of various kinds, as well as with eating disorders.
Dr. Sharif has written many articles on homeopathy which can be found on both of his websites, www.DrSharif.com and www.VisualHomeopathy.com. He has also published a textbook on homeopathy titled “Visual Homeopathy: Identifying the Common Constitutions Within Minutes”. He teaches the Visual Homeopathy approach online as well as at various naturopathic medical schools in the United States and Canada.
Prior to pursuing graduate studies in naturopathic medicine over 20 years ago, Dr. Sharif received an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Washington, and worked as an engineer at Microsoft and other software companies for several years. In his medical practice, he blends the holistic/artistic approach to medicine with the analytical approach of problem-solving that he learned as a practicing engineer.
